Folk high school

A folk high school is a type of educational institution that began in Denmark in 1844. They are meant to be a place for people of all ages to come together to learn in a community atmosphere with idea-sharing, debates and music. Students usually live at the school for a period of time so they can get to know each other, learn new skills and become better citizens. They learn in classes and participate in activities like singing, dancing and playing music. The goal of a folk high school is to provide people with a chance to come together, learn and grow.
