Food supplements

Food supplements are like vitamins and minerals that help our bodies stay healthy. Just like how we eat different foods to get the nutrients we need, sometimes we need an extra boost of a certain nutrient.

For example, if we don't eat enough fruits and vegetables which contain vitamin C, our bodies might not have enough of it to help fight off colds and other illnesses. So, we can take a supplement that has vitamin C in it to help make up for what we're not getting from our food.

Food supplements come in different forms, like pills or powders, and you can get them at a store or your doctor might recommend them to you. It's important to not take too many supplements, because that can be harmful, and to always talk to a grown-up or a doctor before taking any new supplements.
