Fossil fuels lobby

A fossil fuel lobby is a group of people or organizations with a shared interest in keeping fossil fuels such as coal, oil, or natural gas as our main energy source. This group works to influence government policies, laws and regulations to promote the continued use of fossil fuels over other energy sources. They often hire lobbyists to visit elected officials, work with industry groups and fund research to show that fossil fuels are the best source of energy. By spending money on these activities and influencing public opinion, the fossil fuel lobby hopes to keep us from making the switch to renewable energy sources.
