ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Fourth-generation warfare

Fourth-generation warfare is a type of war where different countries use new strategies and tactics to try and fight each other. It is different than the traditional ways of fighting by using things like information, technology, and psychological mind-games to gain the upper-hand. This type of warfare is especially difficult because the enemy can use techniques and ideas that change constantly. It is also hard to predict what tactics the enemy is going to use since they are new and different every time.
