Francoism

Francoism is a big word that means following the ideas and beliefs of a man named Francisco Franco, who was a leader in Spain a long time ago.

Imagine that Francisco Franco was like the principal of a school, and he was really strict. He wanted to control everything and everyone in the school, and he didn't let people have a lot of freedom.

Franco believed that Spain should be very traditional and not change very much. He also didn't like people who thought differently than him, and he punished them if they did.

People who followed Francoism thought that it was important to have a strong government that controlled everything, and that people should obey the government without questioning it.

Many people didn't like Francoism because they wanted more freedom to think and do what they wanted. But for a long time, it was the way things were in Spain, until Franco died and things started to change.
