Imagine you have a toy you love very much. You want to keep it with you all the time and nobody takes it away. But, one day, a bully came and took your toy from you. You were so sad and angry because you couldn't play with your toy anymore. So, your parents decided to help you and they talked to the bully and convinced him to give your toy back.
Now, think of your toy as your freedom - the ability to have your own ideas, speak out loud, and make choices about your own life. Just like how your parents helped you get your toy back from the bully, there are people who work hard every day to ensure that you can keep your freedom. They are called soldiers or servicemen, and they work in the army or military. They go to a place far away from their homes and families to fight against some bad people who want to take away the freedom of other people.
But, fighting in a war is not easy. Soldiers have to stay away from their loved ones for long periods, face dangerous situations, and even risk their own lives. They have to be very brave and strong to protect your freedom. And, sadly, some soldiers do not come back home because they sacrificed their lives to keep you and everyone else free.
So, when we say freedom isn't free, it means that we have to appreciate and respect the people who fought and still fight for our freedom every day. It is important to remember that our freedom came with a price, and that price is the sacrifice made by our soldiers. So, let us always be thankful and show our appreciation to the brave men and women who serve our country.
