ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Genderqueer

Genderqueer is when someone doesn't feel like they fit into just being a boy or a girl. Sometimes people might feel like they have aspects of both, or neither, or they might feel like their gender changes from day to day. It's kind of like when you want to wear your princess dress one day and your superhero cape the next - you're still the same person, but you feel differently on different days. People who are genderqueer might use different pronouns (like they/them instead of he/she) to show that they don't fit into a typical boy/girl box. It's important to remember that everyone can be whoever they want to be, and we should always be kind and accepting to others no matter what their gender identity is.
