ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

General Motors

General Motors (or GM for short) is a really big company that makes cars and trucks. They make lots of different brands, like Chevrolet, Cadillac, Buick, and more.

Just like how you have different toys that all do different things, GM makes different cars and trucks that do different things too. Some are small and good for driving in the city, while others are big and meant for more tough jobs like towing heavy things or driving long distances.

GM has been around for a really long time, since before your parents were even born! They started making cars way back in the early 1900s. They've made lots of different cars over the years, and have even changed a lot as a company. Sometimes they have been very successful, but other times they have struggled too.

Right now, GM is still making lots of cars and trucks, as well as investing in new technology like electric cars and self-driving cars. They have a lot of people who work for them all over the world, and they are always trying to make their cars better and safer for everyone who uses them.
