Georeferencing

Georeferencing is a way of assigning real-world coordinates to items on a map. Imagine a map of a city like a puzzle. In georeferencing, you would be assigning a number and letters to each puzzle piece so you can tell which piece goes where. For example, each piece might be A1, A2, B1, B2, etc. That way, you can quickly put the map back together. Georeferencing can also add other real-world coordinates like street names and landmarks to a map. This can be helpful for finding places or making sure you know exactly where something is.
