Government agency

A government agency is a group of people appointed by the government to help manage aspects of the country. Some examples of government agencies are the police, who help keep people safe, the IRS, which collects taxes to help pay for things like schools and roads, and the FDA, which makes sure that food and drugs are safe. Every government agency has a specific job to do and works together with other government agencies to make sure the country runs smoothly.
