Gray goo

Gray goo is an idea about what might happen if science and technology gets too advanced. It is a worry that it could lead to something called nanotechnology that would make tiny machines that could do things like creating more machines or copy itself. If these machines got out of control, they could multiply very quickly and take over the world by eating up everything in their path like a kind of giant goo. That's why they call it 'gray goo'.
