Synthetic biology

Synthetic biology is like Lego, but using pieces of genetic material instead of bricks. Scientists are building new kinds of things using pieces of genetic material, like cells, plants and animal-like creatures, using these pieces and putting them together like Lego. They are basically designing and building things at the genetic level, where things have never been seen before. They use computers to design the pieces and then scientists put them together to create something totally new. These new things they build can do amazing things, like helping cure diseases and create new kinds of materials from plant-based materials. They can also help keep our animals and plants healthy and safe from harm.
