Great Compassion Mantra

The great compassion mantra is something that people say to themselves to try and be kinder and more caring towards others. It's like a very special sentence that has a lot of meaning behind it. When you say the great compassion mantra, you're asking for help from someone who is very wise and kind, to try and make you a better person.

The mantra goes like this: "Om Mani Padme Hum." Each of those words means something special. "Om" is a way of starting off the sentence and getting ready to say the important stuff. "Mani" means that you're asking for help from someone who is very wise and kind. "Padme" means lotus and is a symbol of purity. "Hum" means that you want to be more caring towards others.

It's like you're asking the wise and kind person to help you become more pure and kind-hearted, so that you can be a better friend to those around you. Some people say this mantra to themselves in their heads when they're feeling angry or upset, so that they can calm down and be a little bit kinder towards others.
