Great Satan

The phrase "Great Satan" is used to describe the United States of America. It is a term used mainly by people from the Middle East who see the US as a powerful and intrusive force in affairs in their region of the world. The US often takes actions in the Middle East, like invading or bombing other countries, that some people don't like, and so they express their frustration with the phrase "Great Satan".
