ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Green ban

When people talk about a "green ban" they mean that they are not going to let anyone build anything on a particular piece of land or mess with a particular environment. It's called a "green ban" because the people who enforce it think that if they let people build or dig or cut down trees, it will be bad for the environment.

So when there is a green ban, everyone has to stop and think carefully about why they want to do something on that land, and whether it's worth risking damage to the environment. It's like when you're playing a game with your friends and someone says "time out" because they're not sure what the rules are, and everyone has to stop and talk about it for a minute.

Green bans are usually put in place by people who care a lot about the environment and want to make sure that it stays safe and healthy for people and animals. It's like when your parents tell you not to play with toy guns because they don't want anyone to get hurt - they're trying to make sure that everyone stays safe.

So if you hear people talking about a green ban, you'll know that they're trying to protect the environment and make sure that everything stays healthy and happy for everyone who lives there.
