Grog

Grog is a drink that was invented by sailors a long time ago when they were traveling on ships to explore new places. They would mix water with alcohol (usually rum) so that they could drink something safe to drink and still get a little bit of the fun feeling that comes with drinking alcohol.

The reason they mixed water with alcohol is because if they just drank alcohol they would get really sick and dehydrated, which means they wouldn't feel very good and would have a hard time doing their job on the ship.

Nowadays, some people still drink grog as a fun drink, but most people just drink regular alcohol like beer or wine. But grog is still an important part of history and reminds us of how creative people can be when they need to come up with something new and useful.
