Hand drill

A hand drill is a tool that people use to make holes in things. It looks like a long stick with a twisting thingy on one end and a handle on the other end. You hold onto the handle and push the twisting thingy into the thing you want to make a hole in.

When you twist the handle, the twisting thingy moves in a circle and rubs against the surface you're drilling into. The rubbing makes a little piece of the material you're drilling come off and go away, leaving a hole behind.

Different hand drills have different things you can put on the twisty end, called drill bits. There are different sizes and shapes of drill bits, depending on what kind of hole you want to make. Some drill bits make very small holes, while others make very big holes.

So if you ever need to make a hole in something and you don't have any power tools, a hand drill can do the job!
