Pump drill

A pump drill is a tool that helps you make holes in things like wood. You hold the pump drill with one hand and pump it up and down with the other hand. When you pump it, a special part with a sharp point goes round and round and makes a hole in the wood.

It's a bit like when you're pushing a toy car and it goes around and around because you're pushing it so fast. The pump drill works the same way by making the sharp part spin really fast until it makes a hole.

Some people also use pump drills to make fire, by rubbing the spinning part on something soft like bark until it gets hot enough to make a spark.

So, a pump drill is a tool that helps you make holes in things and can also be used to make fire. All you need to do is pump it up and down with your hand and it does the rest!
