ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Hardest language

Okay kiddo, so you know how we speak English and it's pretty easy for us because it's our first language?

Well, there are other languages in the world that are much harder to learn than English, and people call these languages "hard" or "difficult."

When we say a language is hard, it means that it's really complicated and takes a lot of time and effort to learn. Some languages have really different sounds and grammar rules than what we're used to.

For example, Mandarin Chinese is one of the hardest languages to learn because it has a lot of tones, which means that the way you say a word can completely change its meaning. Plus, the characters they use to write their words are really complex and take a lot of practice to remember.

Another hard language is Arabic, which has a really different alphabet and a lot of complicated grammar rules. Plus, some of the letters are really hard to pronounce if you're not used to it.

So basically, some languages are harder to learn than others because they have really different sounds, grammar rules, and writing systems. But if we put in enough effort and practice, we can learn any language we want!
