Hawking radiation

Hawking Radiation is the name given to energy which is lost from a black hole. The energy comes out of the black hole as radiation which is like a very faint light (x-rays, gamma rays, and other kinds of radiation). We think this happens because the black hole has a certain temperature, and in order for it to stay the same temperature it needs to push out energy like a fan might push out air. That energy leaving the black hole is called Hawking Radiation.
