Heat capacity ratio

Heat capacity ratio is a way of measuring how much energy it takes to heat up a particular type of matter. It works by comparing the amount of energy it takes to heat up one unit of matter (for example a liter of water) to the amount of energy it takes to heat up the same amount of air. The bigger the difference between the two, the bigger the heat capacity ratio is.
