Homo luzonensis

Okay, so there are these really old bones that were found in a cave in the Philippines. Think of it like a playground where you find cool things on the ground!

Scientists looked at these bones and realized they were from a new type of human, called Homo luzonensis. It means "light person from Luzon" because Luzon is the name of the island where the bones were found.

This new human was about 4 feet tall and had a mix of features from different humans. They had teeth and fingers that were similar to a very old human called Australopithecus, but also had some things in common with modern humans, like the shape of their toe bones.

Scientists think that Homo luzonensis lived a really long time ago, like maybe 50,000 or even 67,000 years ago! That's a lot of time before we were around!

So now we know a little more about our ancient past, and that there was another type of human like us, even if they were a bit different.
