Hospital-acquired infection

Hospital-acquired infections (sometimes called nosocomial infections) are germs that you may get when you are a patient in the hospital. They are germs that you did not have when you first went into the hospital, but you got them while you were there. They can make you very sick and can make your stay in the hospital longer. Hospitals work hard to prevent these infections, but sometimes they happen anyway.
