Hot reading

Hot reading is when someone learns information about another person ahead of time in order to make it look like they are psychic or have special abilities. It's kind of like cheating.

Imagine you and your friend are playing a guessing game where you have to guess what the other person is thinking. Before the game starts, your friend secretly tells someone else what they are thinking so that person can tell you the answer. When you guess correctly, your friend is impressed and thinks you're magic. But really, you just had inside information.

In the same way, people who do hot readings might research someone before meeting them or ask them questions ahead of time to gather information. Then during a psychic reading or performance, they use that information to make it seem like they are amazing at predicting things. But really, they just found out ahead of time what they were going to say.

Hot reading isn't honest or fair because it's not based on real psychic abilities or intuition. It's like cheating at a game, and it can be misleading and harmful for people who believe in psychics or need real help.
