ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Human development (psychology)

Hey there kiddo! So do you know how people grow and change as they get older? That's what we call human development. It's basically like how books start off as blank pages and have more and more words and pictures added until they become a whole story.

When people are born, they can't do much on their own. They need help from grown-ups to do things like eat, drink, and go potty. As they keep growing, they start learning how to do more things for themselves like walking, talking, and dressing themselves.

As you get older, you might start going to school and learning new things every day. You'll also start making friends and learning how to get along with others. Sometimes, things might be tough and you might make mistakes. But that's how we learn and grow even more.

As you become a teenager, your body will go through some big changes too. You might start feeling different emotions and want to explore new things. All of these experiences will help shape who you are and who you'll become as an adult.

So basically, human development is how we all change and grow as we get older. It's like becoming your very own book with a unique story to tell!
