Humanitarian intervention

Humanitarian intervention is when a country or group of countries decides to help out people in another country who are in trouble and need help because they are suffering from violence, civil war, or natural disaster. For example, if people in a different country were facing a famine, a group of countries could send food and money to help people there. Another example is if people in another country were facing a war or violence, a group of countries could step in and send peacekeeping forces to help try to stop the fighting.
