Hurufiyya

Hurufiyya is a type of art that uses letters and words as artistic elements. Imagine you have a bunch of letters and you want to make something really pretty with them, like a picture. That's what hurufiyya is all about!

It started in the Middle East a long time ago, when people would use letters and words to make beautiful geometric designs and patterns. They also used the letters to write poetry and make illustrations.

Hurufiyya artists use different types of Arabic calligraphy to create their art. Calligraphy is like writing, but instead of writing just to communicate a message, calligraphers try to make their writing look really beautiful. They use different styles, like curved lines or straight lines or big letters or small letters, to create their designs.

Some hurufiyya artists use the letters to create abstract art, which means it doesn't look like anything in real life. Others use the letters to create pictures of people, animals, and plants. And some use the letters to write words or phrases that have special religious or symbolic meanings.

So, hurufiyya is kind of like a fun way to play with letters and make art out of them!
