ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Hybrid warfare

Hybrid warfare is kind of like a mix of different ways of fighting. It happens when two countries fight, but it doesn't just involve soldiers shooting guns or shooting missiles at each other - it involves lots of different kinds of activities. It could involve using computer hackers to break into computers and cause them to crash, or using propaganda (lies and false information) to try to trick people into believing things that aren't true, or using special forces to carry out secret operations, or using embassies to influence people's decisions in politics. It's a very complex type of warfare which is becoming increasingly common.
