Illyrian languages

Hey kiddo, have you heard of the Illyrian languages? They were spoken a long time ago in a region called Illyria, which is now parts of modern Albania, Montenegro, Croatia, and Bosnia and Herzegovina. People back then spoke different Illyrian languages, kind of like how you speak English and your friend might speak Spanish.

However, the Illyrian languages are different from the ones we speak today because they are what we call extinct or dead languages. That means nobody speaks them anymore. But, we still know a little bit about them through things like ancient writings and inscriptions on old artifacts.

Some people think that the Illyrian languages might be related to other languages in Europe, but we don't know for sure. Even though they're not spoken anymore, the Illyrian languages are still important because they help us learn about history and different cultures of the past. Pretty cool, huh?
