Immiseration thesis

Immiseration thesis is an idea which says that as people work more, the worse their lives become. Basically, it says that things that are supposed to make you happy (like money and things you buy with money) don't actually make you happy if you have to work hard to get them. It suggests that working too much will make you feel worse instead of better.
