Information extraction is a process that uses computers to find pieces of information from sources like websites or email. This can be done by having a computer look for patterns in words or numbers that are similar to what it already knows. For example, if you wanted to find the addresses of businesses in a city, the computer would look for things like "address" or the name of the city. The computer would then save those pieces of information into a list.
