ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Inner critic

An inner critic is a voice inside your head that tells you things like "you can't do it", or "you're not good enough". It's like an invisible bully that keeps showing up in your head and telling you negative things. It's very important to recognize and talk back to your inner critic when it appears. You can practice being kind to yourself and telling yourself things like "I can do this", or "I'm strong and capable" - that way you won't get so discouraged by your inner critic and it will start to become quieter over time.
