ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Input-output planning

Input-output planning is like when you are making a plan for a big circus show. You need to figure out how many performers, animals, stages, and tents you need for the show, right? That’s exactly what input-output planning helps you do!

Think about it like this, imagine you have a toy box filled with lots of different toys like blocks, puzzles, and stuffed animals. You need to figure out how many toys you can use to build a tower, and then how many toys you have left over. This is what input-output planning does, by figuring out how many things you need to make something happen, and then what you have left over.

Now, let's apply this idea for a circus show. To make sure that the circus show is successful, we need to have a plan that includes all the things we need to make the show happen. For example, we need performers, animals like elephants and lions, stages for the performers to do their tricks on, and tents to create a big top.

Input-output planning helps us figure out how much of each thing we need to make this happen, and then what we have left over. We can do this by using a giant chart that shows how much of each thing we need and how much we can produce.

So, input-output planning is like a big plan that helps you figure out how much of everything you need to make something happen, and what you have left over. It's like putting together the pieces of a puzzle to make something great happen.
