ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Institutional analysis

Institutional analysis is like when your mommy or daddy checks your school to make sure everyone in your class is behaving well and following the rules.

Just like how your school has rules and policies to ensure that everything runs smoothly, institutions in society (such as government agencies, schools, companies, etc.) have rules and policies too.

When someone conducts an institutional analysis, they look at how well these rules are working and if they are helping or hurting the institution. They also look at how people interact with each other and how things get done.

Ultimately, the goal of an institutional analysis is to figure out how to make the institution work better for everyone involved.
