Instrument flight rules

Instrument Flight Rules (IFR) are a set of rules used by pilots when they are flying in clouds and they can't see outside the airplane. These rules help the pilots stay safe by giving them a plan to follow so they don't crash into other planes or into the ground. IFR is like a map that helps pilots know where they are going and how to get there. It tells them how high to fly, how to stay in the right place, and how to talk to controllers or other airplanes in the sky. It also helps them know which airports they can use to land and take off.
