Instrumental rationality

Instrumental rationality is like having a plan to get something done. It means making good decisions that help you get closer to achieving your goal. For example, if your goal is to save money for a new bike, it would be instrumentally rational for you to choose to save your allowance each week instead of buying candy with it.
