Intelligenzaktion

Okay kiddo, so Intelligenzaktion is a big and complicated word that talks about a really bad thing that happened during the Second World War.

You remember how there were two sides during the war, right? Well, one of those sides, the Germans, they believed that certain people were inferior to them and did not deserve to live. These people included Jews, Romani people, disabled people, and others.

The Germans decided to do something really bad to these people, they wanted to get rid of them. That's where Intelligenzaktion comes in. It was a secret plan that the Germans made to find and kill these people.

They sent out special groups of soldiers called Einsatzgruppen to find and kill these people. They would go into towns and villages and gather up all the people they thought were inferior. Then they would take them to a place like a forest or a ditch and shoot them.

It was a very sad and scary time for the people who were targeted by the Intelligenzaktion. Many families were torn apart and many innocent people lost their lives. We must never forget what happened during the war and work to make sure that something like this never happens again.
