ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Intensive pronoun

An intensive pronoun is like a word that helps you talk about yourself or another person in a more specific or focused way. It's like when you want to say "I did it myself!" or "She herself solved the problem!"

When we use an intensive pronoun, we're putting more emphasis on the person or thing we're talking about. So if you say "I myself baked the cake," you're highlighting that you personally did the baking, and maybe you're proud of that fact.

Intensive pronouns are usually the same words we use for reflexive pronouns (like "myself," "yourself," and "themselves"), but when we use them for emphasis instead of just as a regular pronoun, we refer to them as intensive pronouns.
