Internally displaced person

An internally displaced person (or IDP) is someone who has been forced to leave their home because of a bad situation like a war, a natural disaster, or even a bad government. They cannot go back to their home, so they have to stay in a different place, often a place where they do not know anyone. It can be a very difficult situation, because they are away from their family and friends and in a place they don't know.
