The Irish language is a language that is used in Ireland. It is also called "Gaelic" or "Irish Gaelic". People in Ireland have been speaking Irish for many hundreds of years. Irish is a very old language and many of the words and phrases are very different than English. People in Ireland use Irish to talk to each other, to sing and to write stories and books.
