Irish question

Okay kiddo, you know how different people might have different ideas about how things should be run? Well, a while ago, a lot of people in Ireland didn't agree with how the British government was treating them. Some people wanted Ireland to be separate from Britain and govern themselves, while others wanted to stay part of Britain.

This disagreement caused a lot of problems, and sometimes people were hurt or even killed because of it. It was called the "Irish Question" because the British government wanted to figure out how to settle things peacefully and keep both sides happy.

Eventually, after a lot of talking, Ireland was divided into two parts - one part that was still part of Britain, and another part that became a separate country called the Republic of Ireland. This helped settle the Irish Question, but there are still some disagreements between people who live in the different parts of Ireland today.
