ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Jonah

Okay kiddo, so imagine there was a man named Jonah. One day, God asked him to do something, but Jonah didn't want to do it, so he ran away on a boat. While he was on the boat, a big storm came and everyone on the boat was really scared. They thought maybe someone on the boat had done something wrong and that's why the storm was happening.

Jonah realized that he was the one who had done something wrong by not doing what God had asked him to do. He told the people on the boat to throw him overboard, and they did.

But instead of drowning, Jonah was swallowed by a big fish. He stayed inside the fish for three days and three nights before the fish finally spit him out onto the shore. Jonah realized that God was still with him and that he needed to do what God had asked him to do.

So Jonah went and did what God had asked him to do, and everything turned out okay in the end. The story of Jonah reminds us that we should always listen to God and do what He asks us to do, even if it's scary or hard.
