Kadomatsu

Ok kiddo, have you ever heard of a kadomatsu? It's something that people in Japan use to decorate their houses during a special time of the year called New Year's.

Picture this - it's wintertime in Japan, and people are getting ready to celebrate the start of a new year. They want to make their homes look really special and festive, so they get a special decoration called a kadomatsu.

A kadomatsu is made out of bamboo, pine tree branches, and other natural materials. It's sort of like a mini garden that you can put at the entrance of your house.

When you look at a kadomatsu, you might notice that it has three main parts - a tall center shoot, a shorter one on each side, and decorations like pine cones or paper ornaments.
