Karrick Process is a way to make fuel out of biomass. Biomass is anything organic, like trees, grass, or plants. With the Karrick Process, the biomass is mixed with steam and heated up in a special container called a reactor. Then, the heat breaks down the biomass into different elements, like hydrogen and carbon. The carbon and hydrogen then can be used to make something called syngas, which is a type of fuel. Syngas can be used to make electricity, or be made into other types of fuels for cars and other machines.
