Kaupina

Kaupina is a traditional Indian men's undergarment, similar to the ancient version of modern-day underwear. It is designed to cover and support the private area of a man's body. Think of it like a small piece of cloth that is worn between the legs and tied at the waist. The kaupina is made from different materials such as cotton, silk or linen.

Just like how you change your everyday clothes, a man will change his kaupina every day. It is very important to keep oneself clean and hygienic, especially in sensitive areas like the private area. The kaupina helps to keep everything in place and prevents any uncomfortable movements or chafing.

Although not many people in modern times wear a kaupina anymore, it holds great cultural and historical importance in Indian traditions. It was believed to be the most comfortable and practical way to dress back in ancient times and is still used by some people today either for tradition or religious purposes.
