The Kazakh Steppe is a big grassy plain in the country of Kazakhstan. It’s like a big field that goes on and on for miles and miles.
There are lots of different plants and animals that live there, like tall grasses and wildflowers, and animals like horses, deer, and wolves.
People have also lived on the steppe for many, many years. They used to be called “nomads,” which means they didn’t stay in one place all the time. They moved around with their animals, like horses and sheep, to find good places for them to eat and drink.
Even though the steppe is a big open space, it can be hard to live there because it can get really hot in the summer and really cold in the winter. But the people who live there have learned how to live with the weather and the animals, and they have a special connection to the land.
