Khao Khluk Kapi is a type of food that people in Thailand like to eat for breakfast or lunch. It’s made up of rice (which is like tiny grains that are cooked in water until they are soft and fluffy) that is mixed with shrimp paste (which is kind of like a sauce made from tiny shrimp), fish sauce (which is a salty sauce made from fish), sugar, lime juice, and chili peppers.
Once all of these ingredients are mixed together, the dish is usually served with crispy pork, fried Chinese sausages, slices of cucumber, and something called a “gai yang” which is a type of grilled chicken. When you eat khao khluk kapi, you’ll get a lot of different tastes all mixed together: salty, sweet, spicy, and sour. It might sound a little strange, but lots of people in Thailand really enjoy this dish!
