ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Kuranishi structure

Okay kiddo, imagine you have a big piece of paper and some colored stickers. You want to make a picture by placing the stickers on the paper, but you want to make sure they follow some rules.

Now, imagine you have a bunch of these big pieces of paper with stickers on them. They are all different, but they have something in common – they all follow the same rules.

This is kind of like a Kuranishi structure! Instead of paper and stickers, we have something called a manifold and some special coordinate systems called charts. These charts help us keep track of how everything on the manifold is connected and how they interact with each other.

Just like your picture with stickers, a Kuranishi structure has some rules to follow. These rules make sure that everything on the manifold is organized and makes sense.

So, a Kuranishi structure is like a big puzzle with lots of pieces. Each piece has its own rules, but they all fit together to create a larger picture.
