ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Laboratory information management system

A laboratory information management system (LIMS) is like a very special computer program that helps scientists keep track of lots of important information about the things they are studying in a laboratory. It helps them keep track of different samples they are working with, what tests they've already done, and what they still need to do. The LIMS can also remind the scientists when it's time to do certain tests, and help them create reports that explain what they've discovered in their experiments.

Think of it like a big notebook the scientists use to organize their work. But instead of just being a regular notebook, the LIMS is like a superhero notebook that can do all kinds of things to help the scientists work better, faster, and smarter!
