Lancang (ship)

A lancang is a very big boat that can take lots and lots of people and things on it. It is also called a houseboat because people can live on it, like it's their own house but on the water! The lancang was first used by people who live near the Lancang River in China a long time ago, and now many people use it for all sorts of things like transportation, fishing, and even as a place to go on vacation!

The lancang is made out of wood and has a flat bottom, so it can float on the water without tipping over. It has a really big, wide body that helps it to stay stable on the water, and it's really long too! Sometimes, lancangs can be as long as a football field! That's because they need to be big enough to fit all the people and things that want to go on it.

On a lancang, you can find all sorts of rooms and things like a kitchen, a bathroom, sleeping areas, and even a place to sit and relax. Some lancangs even have a little garden on top of them! Isn't that cool? It's like having your own house, but on the water!

People who live on a lancang usually use a small boat called a dinghy to get to land, so they can buy groceries and other things they need. But some lancangs are big enough to have a little motorboat on them too, so they don't need to use a dinghy all the time.
